VOLUNTEER
Take the bus with us!
As Oprah Winfrey once said, “Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.”
So, take the bus with us!
Having experienced the healing support of a group
on your own grief journey, you know first hand how much hope and encouragement volunteers can provide. Reach out to help
others who are just beginning theirs. In 2010, CGSS Group Volunteers
alone contributed more than 600 hours to help others.
Support Group Opportunities
Welcome/Call committee, greeters, provide or serve meals and dine with group members, share stories, make topical presentations, encourage struggling group members.
Why are Volunteers so important? Hear what group members
have to say...
- I needed to hear about their successes and their truthfulness
about the paid and sadness.
- Good to have others experience to realize that we are not
alone.
- Very much helpful to me because she has been in this place
of grief, disappointment and loss a lot longer than me.
- Showed that we could "get there."
- An inspiration to there being hope when volunteers shared
their lives with us. They show there are better days ahead.
- Loved hearing their stories and seeing how strong they are
today. Gives us hope.
