Are you grieving the unthinkable? The death of an adult child? CGSS offers you a place of healing and support for what is known to be one of the most painful losses we can experience.
Beginning February 8, Clinical Director Steve Sweatt, LPC/LMFT will facilitate an eight-week support group in Homewood for couples and single parents who have experienced the loss no one expects to face - the death of an adult child.
This is something you can do for yourself. A support group has an amazing power to heal as grieving people share together in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. Volunteers offer inspirational stories about their grief journeys and how the group experience helped them learn to cope with life after their loss.
New members are accepted through the February 22nd meeting.
Study materials by recognized grief experts are provided.

Am I going crazy? Probably not. If you have recently experienced the death of a loved one, you are grieving. And grief often goes hand-in-hand with alarming changes in our behavior.
Beginning March 10, Clinical Director Steve Sweatt, LPC/LMFT will facilitate an eight-week support group in the North Shelby area for grieving adults who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one.
Come to a place of healing and support where you can learn what is "normal" when you're grieving. If family and friends are beginning to tune out when you need to talk about your loss, join our support group. As you share with other grieving people in a safe, supportive and confidential environment, you will learn that you are not alone in this experience. Volunteers offer inspirational stories about their grief journeys and how the group experience helped them learn to cope with life after their loss.
New members are accepted through the March 24th meeting.
Study materials by recognized grief experts are provided.
