Community Grief Support Group has been selected as PGA Champions
Tour 2008 Charity of the Year.
When
CGSS signed up for the Regions Charity Classic "Birdies for Charity"
fund-raising program last February we had no idea if we could
raise enough to make it worth while. But it sounded like fun,
and whatever we raised, we got back - so it was a win/win situation.
A group of CGSS volunteers formed a committee, set a goal of $10,000.00
and went to work.

The Birdies for Charity FLAT DONATION DEADLINE WAS EXTENDED TO JUNE 17 and CGSS IS HANGING ON TO THIRD PLACE. Only three charities will receive matching funds and the top ten are all very close, so every dollar counts.
Front-page articles in the Birmingham News broadcast the funding problems facing charitable agencies as needs for services grow and income deminishes. CGSS receives NO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT and NO UNITED WAY SUPPORT. YOU, and other caring people, foundations, businesses and faith-based communities provide all of our support. YOU enable us to give our services free of charge. A single 11-week support group costs around $6000 and CGSS will provide 12 this year in addition to approximately 800 hours of individual counseling, our Grief in the Workplace initiative and Holiday Help program.
Please join those who have so generously supported CGSS in the 2009 "Birdies for Charity" drive. HELP US HELP OTHERS! Mail CGSS your check payable to "Birdies for Charity" or click on the link below:
